Selective lanes, not a catalogue

Three areas where I can be useful. I step in where architecture, AI, and leadership judgment have to meet commercial reality.

01 · Architecture

Enterprise and systems architecture under constraint

Most organisations I meet do not lack diagrams. They lack an architecture practice that survives budget cycles, regulatory pressure, and the next urgent initiative. Whether you are in government digital, financial services, telecoms, or a large enterprise estate, the hard part is keeping systems coherent when conditions tighten. That is the work I do here: shaping the systems and the decisions around them so they still make sense six months later.

  • Clarifying target state, transition paths, and what can wait, without multi-year theatre.
  • Aligning platform choices with risk appetite, operating model, and commercial priorities.
  • Giving you and your delivery leaders a shared language for trade-offs you can actually use in the room.

02 · AI systems

Practical AI in real organisations

AI capability without operating context becomes slideware. I have watched that pattern in enterprise technology and in markets that move fast with thinner safety nets. This lane is about where machine intelligence can sit usefully in the organisation you actually have, with governance, measurement, and delivery discipline attached.

  • Distinguishing signal from novelty: where AI changes the work, and where it does not.
  • Designing for accountability across data, models, human oversight, and who owns the outcome in operations.
  • Connecting AI initiatives to architecture and commercial outcomes, not a pile of isolated experiments.

03 · Advisory

Selective consulting and leadership advisory

Sometimes the question is not which stack to buy. It is which trajectory to set. I keep advisory engagements deliberate and limited. They are for leaders who want a clear-eyed sounding board on technology strategy, organisational capability, and the shape of the next chapter.

  • Strategy and architecture counsel when time and political constraint are both on the table.
  • Framing modernization and AI investment as operating choices, not programmes with neat end dates.
  • Discreet, high-trust conversations. Selective by design.
